Aims:

There are no examinations with this NVQ Qualification

Unlike traditional classroom health and safety training courses such as the NEBOSH Diploma, an NVQ qualification is work based, and involves the collection of evidence from your normal day to day activities. This means that candidates must be in a role that allows them to provide this. This will probably be individuals who have already acquired some experience, and candidates must be in a health and safety managerial position, able to influence the health and safety policy and practice of their organisation.

Course Content:

• Equivalent to a NEBOSH diploma
• No formal examination
• Flexible workplace study
• Continuous enrolment, start any time

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification; however candidates must be in a role that allows them to collect the required evidence. It would be advisable for candidates to already hold a health and safety qualification such as the IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent. This is so that they have a suitable level of knowledge regarding health and safety matters such as hazard and risk identification in order to collect the necessary evidence to form their NVQ 5 portfolio.

As an alternative to academic qualifications, National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) assess practical skills and the application of knowledge in the workplace, rather than being classroom-based and testing competence via formal exams.

This qualification is designed for health and safety practitioners who have the ability and scope to develop, implement, monitor and review policies and procedures in relevant health and safety management matters.

Delegates are expected to complete their NVQ within 18 months of the start date, and benefit from unlimited support from our team of dedicated, highly experienced assessors throughout their qualification, via visits, email and telephone.
