CPC Driver Training Approved
NAAS, IRELAND, (July 17th, 2009) – Shorcontrol Safety, a leading safety company is proud to announce that it has been accredited by the Road Safety Authority to act as the Training Centre for drivers who wish to acquire or maintain their Driver Certificate of Professional Competence qualification.  

The Shorcontrol training centre in Naas is also FAS registered and will be running the Driver CPC course for all bus drivers and truck drivers in preparation for the new legislation coming into effect in September 2009.

The first course will take place on 29th August 2009 and will cover ‘Module 4 – Professional Driver’.

New Safety at Roadworks Course

NAAS, IRELAND, (18th March, 2009) – Shorcontrol Safety, a leading safety company for Training, Equipment and Consultancy is proud to announce a new course for Health & Safety at Roadworks enabling companies to comply with changes in legislation, 'Amendment No. 2 to Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2006'.

Shorcontrol Safety delivers the 1 day course on Health & Safety at Roadworks. This will provide all attendees with a CSCS (Construction Sector Certification Scheme) FETAC Level 5 certification and identity card.

IOA Acoustics Accreditation Recieved

NAAS, IRELAND, (26th February, 2009) – Shorcontrol Safety, a leading safety company for Training, Equipment and Consultancy is proud to announce accreditation by the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) to deliver the 'Environmental Noise Assessment' and 'Workplace Noise Risk Assessment' courses at its centre in Naas.

Environmental Noise Assessment Course
To launch the new accreditation, Shorcontrol have announced the first course to be held in Ireland. This will be held from Tuesday 5th May to Friday 8th May 2009. With an additionalexam day on Friday 15th May. 

This five-day course seeks to provide delegates with a knowledge of the methodology of environmental noise measurement, including the use and accuracy requirements of sound level meters and analysers and to enable them be aware of the significance of measurement data against the framework of standards and legislation for environmental noise.

FETAC Registration Recieved

NAAS, IRELAND, (February 23rd, 2009) – Shorcontrol Safety, a leading safety company for Training, Equipment and Consultancy has recently completed its registration as an approved provider of FETAC courses.

This registration by FETAC ensures Shorcontrol maintains its status as Irelands’ leading safety company and will result in the most comprehensive list of training courses with FETAC certification anywhere in the country.

Success at Pharmatex ‘08
CORK, IRELAND, (September 19th, 2008) – Shorcontrol Safety, a leading safety company for Training, Equipment and Consultancy celebrated a extremely successful exhibition at the leading pharmaceutical and clinical conference, Pharmatex 08, held in Cork.
 
Show Highlights
At Pharmatex 08, the show was dominated by the broad range of safety equipment being delivered by Shorcontrol Safety. In particular, a lot of attention was received for new fixed and portable gas detection equipment from the GMI V!SA range and the breadth of confined space working and working at heights equipment on display.

Expansion of Training Centre

NAAS, IRELAND, (September 1st, 2008) – Shorcontrol Safety, a leading safety company for Training, Equipment and Consultancy has recently completed the expansion of its Training Centre in Naas, Co.Kildare. 

As one of the leading lights in safety across multiple industries, Shorcontrol Safety has continued to keep ahead of the competition in the addition of new training courses and the also the recent upgrade to its industry resource website, www.safety.ie.

New Courses
In recent months, they have added several new courses, these include IOSH Managing & Working Safely; CSCS Signing, Lighting and Guarding, IOA Workplace Noise Risk Assessment and Heartsaver AED and CPR.

This has seen Shorcontrol Safety deliver training to over 7500 candidates during the past 12 months and highlighted the need for further expansion of its offices in Naas.

IOSH 'Managing Safely' Additional Capacity

Shorcontrol safety have added additional capacity to their industry leading 'Managing Safely' training course. In conjunction and with full accreditation from IOSH, Shorcontrol offer this course and also 'Working Safely', a one day course for all employees.

Who should go on Managing safely?
Managing safely is for managers and supervisors in any sector, and any organisation. The course is designed to give managers all they need to know to help them handle health and safety in their teams. The flexible new high impact programme covers all the main health and safety issues, and includes a session tackling the environment too. The course lasts for 24 hours in total. Managing Safely can be delivered over a full week or on single days or as an evening course and has eight modules:

Noise, Dust & Vibration Monitoring

The introduction of new legislation in 2006 lowers the allowable levels of workplace noise, and puts the onus on the employer to quantify and reduce workplace noise levels.
